A recertified computer is a pre-owned business-class device that has been professionally inspected, repaired (if needed), cleaned, and restored to full working condition by a certified Verit Labs IT professional. Recertified computers are resold at a significant discount compared to new retail and come with a full year warranty. These systems generally come from corporate off-lease machines, open box returns, or trade-in for new systems. Recertified computers may have minor cosmetic flaws like scratches, but are fully functional, and come with replacement parts (if needed) and a freshly installed operating system.

Business-Class refers to a desktop or laptop computer that is built for commercial use, not consumer grade. Business-class computers are generally not available at consumer outlets (like Best Buy, Walmart, etc.). For starters, we careful select the best desktop and notebook systems from trusted suppliers.  Afterwards, we perform the following steps to ensure the system meets with our standards for recertification: 

1. Inspection & Testing – Every component is tested for functionality, from the battery/power supplies to motherboard, led screens, all ports and internal hardware. 

2. Cleaning & Repairs: Units are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.  Any defective parts (such as RAM, hard drives, or screens) are replaced. 

3. Data Wiping: All original data is securely wiped, and drives are partitioned from scratch ensuring no previous operating system, data, or bloatware remains.

4. Software Installation: We install a legally licensed copy of the Windows 11 Professional operating system.  We select the maximum options for privacy and always install to a local account (instead of using a Microsoft account).  This gives you the cleanest, like-new installation possible.

5. Cosmetic Fixes: Though some slight imperfections might remain, we work hard to reduce or eliminate any minor cosmetic blemishes.
